This is a fantastic outdoor performance like no other. Featuring a huge cast and crew of almost 1,500 people alongside numerous horses, sheep, oxen and donkeys, goats and geese. They tell the story of the events that have shaped the North East of England through the years from the Roman Occupation right up to World War II.

£525 per person

 

 

Price Includes:  5 night’s Dinner, Bed & Breakfast Accommodation at the 4 star Holiday Inn Newcastle Gosforth Park Hotel plus a guided coach tour of the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, a 20 minute journey on the Heatherslaw Light Railway, entry to Lady Waterford Hall, a one hour river cruise, visits to Durham and Newcastle Upon Tyne.

 

There will be no single room supplement for the first 4 guests to book, extra single rooms will be on a request basis only and subject to a supplement of £110.

Thursday

We depart Plymouth at 7am and make our way northwards making comfort stops along the way. We will make a longer stop for lunch before arriving at our hotel late afternoon / early evening to check in and enjoy our first evening meal.

Friday

Our guided coach tour begins with a crossing of the causeway to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. Returning to the mainland we enjoy a 20 minute single journey on the Heatherslaw Light Railway; England’s most northerly steam-hauled railway. From here we drive through Etal and Ford, two of the prettiest villages in Northumberland, where we visit Lady Waterford Hall, which was awarded “Best Hidden Gem” for the pretty water-coloured murals and fascinating stories of Lady Waterford’s life including her friendship with Queen Victoria.

Saturday

Mid morning we drive along the stunning coastline to the market town of Alnwick. It's market days, so hopefully you'll find a bargain and enjoy the genial atmosphere in the market place.
In the evening, we will enjoy the UK’s ‘must-see’ spectacular outdoor live action show of “Kynren – An Epic Tale of England”.
(Please note: This is an outdoor show and takes place regardless of weather conditions).

Sunday

Raby Castle is a dramatic 14th-century castle, built by the Nevills has been home to Lord Barnards’s family since 1626. beyond the most impressive gateway, you will find nine towers, a vast hall and an octagonal Victorian drawing room displaying one of the most striking interiors from the 19th century.

Monday

Today we will have a day to explore Newcastle Upon Tyne where you can explore the re-vamped quayside, the various museums, the Millennium Bridge and shopping in Eldon’s Square.

Tuesday

Sadly we must make our way home today. We will make comfort stops along the way with a longer break for lunch. We aim to arrive back in Plymouth early evening.
