This morning we will board the Rutland Belle and enjoy a leisurely 45 minute cruise on Rutland Water one of the largest man-made lakes in Europe. This informative and relaxing cruise benefits from audio commentary from the captain. This afternoon we will visit Barnsdale Gardens an inspirational place created by the late Geoff Hamilton for BBC’s Gardener’s World TV programme with Britain’s largest collection of individually designed gardens.

Wednesday

Today we will head over to the picturesque town of Newark-on-Trent, an authentic British market town, full of tasty treats and historical streets, castles, cakes and created boutiques! You can unveil the perilously unique character shaped by the ruins of Newark Castle present as early as the year 1068, where Oliver Cromwell fought battles against the Royalists and King John was poisoned.

Thursday

Today we will be visiting the International Bomber Command Centre the only place in the world where all Bomber Command casualties can be found including Air Crew, Ground Crew and support staff, over 58,000 individuals. Marvel at the 31 metre tall memorial spire, the UK’s tallest war memorial, and walls that will eventually feature the names of all 26,296 World War II Bomber Command aircrew that so bravely lost their lives whilst serving with 1 and 5 Groups during the Second World War. After your visit, spend the rest of the day in the stunning city of Lincoln.
